One of the most consistent principles in his life is to become unbelievably partisan in every conflict he encounters, and then to win the conflict using a barrage of extreme verbal force. He/Him https://www.instagram.com/tpgeats

A starter pack, but it's just 10-12 Simpsons memes, a search for "From:Stephen Bush Harry Potter" and that one clip from BrassEye about the one thing we did not want to happen.

Every pump clip of Neck Oil or Gamma Ray is a pump clip that could have been Punk IPA but, well, we already do business with Heineken and it's a slightly lower ABV so it sells a bit better and is a bit cheaper...

I agree with all of this, but I think the secondary factor is that Brewdog did genuinely stay independent and so got eaten by Beavertown when they got bought out by Heineken.

A partner at KPMG Australia has been fined A$10,000 ($7,000) after using AI tools to cheat on an internal training course about using AI.

The unnamed partner was forced to redo the test after uploading training materials into an AI platform to help answer questions on the use of the fast-evolving technology.

I think this is basically right, the press are extremely soft on Reform and so Farage has been able to construct himself as anti-politics and pro-change in a way that is entirely divorced from reality. It's all vibes.

"The cabinet were caught out taking a series of expensive gifts and bungs, they have had multiple scandals involving allies who are far too close to sex offenders and the PM is incapable of making tough decisions" - Welcome back Boris Johnson.

Yeah, I lean towards "have to replace him" because he is A) bad at the job in ways that will make it harder to win an election and B) irrecoverably unpopular.

To be clear, the idea any of this will get better under Reform, a party that has more members of the Johnson Cabinet than the Tories currently do, and which has suspended half the MPs they elected is for the birds, but I do understand why people feel like they didn't get the change they voted for.

I struggle with this because there are meaningful policy ways in which this government differs from the last lot, but the vibe is very similar with the lurch from scandal to scandal, churn of allies and advisors, lack of political vision and tendency to overreact to polling.

The BBC reporting on Beth Upton’s current employment situation is definitely not in the public interest, and it is insane how much the British press freely get away with harassing her for the crime of simply living her life existing as a trans person in the UK.

No, that's too midlife crisis

The thing is, Starmer grasped that this behaviour was bad when Johnson did it. You could feel the visceral hatred of Johnson's cavalier approach to women's safety around the Pincher story, or any other number of incidents, but this is the areas where they've ended up most alike.

I do find myself getting increasingly radicalised on stuff like this. The government has just shown no interest in holding its allies accountable, regardless of their behaviour, particularly when it comes to those committing misogynistic violence.

Maybe we should introduce a tiered system for people inserting objects into their holes? One tier, no-fault insertion, for people who tripped and fell, another tier with specific causes, curiosity or trying to get something else out, and one with no option for removal: stents, piercings, etc.

Appreciating we can dunk on this from umpteen different directions but I would say my favourite idiotic detail is the idea that the original settlers saw themselves as an extension of the predominant English culture and not, in reality, escaping from what they perceived to be a godless place.

I do also think there's an irony in critiquing the automation of the repetitive parts of jobs using AI tools, arguably the bullshittier parts of real jobs, by declaring those aren't real jobs in the first place.

I want her to still truly love Rick, but I think deep down everything after she comes to Casablanca is a skillful manipulation of him to do what she wants, and it doesn't just work, it reinvigorates him.

I have watched it probably close to 30 times and I still couldn't quite tell you what Ilsa's motivation truly is. It is an astonishing performance of ambiguity and there are so many little details like that across the film.

The thing about Casablanca being the greatest film of all time is people don't believe you and then they watch it

Yeah, the underlying issue is that she sees the right structure for trans medicine as one that starts from assuming the person isn't likely to be trans by the end of it, and not a sincere exploration of identity.
