1/x My NIH grant that would collect data to help *prevent suicidal thoughts and behaviors* among LGBTQ+ people was terminated today, along with many other LGBTQ+ focused grants. These terminations make no sense scientifically. Here's why:

I am still recruiting for my thesis study exploring people's experiences using coaches (e.g., recovery coaches, life coaches, wellness coaches) for eating disorder recovery! Please share!

Shoutout to Clemson University, who supported me in bringing a small army from my research lab (the BEAM lab) to #ABCT2024 - including one of my grad students, Alexis, and 7 of my undergraduate students. Truly a cool, heartwarming, full circle moment 💛 (4/4)

This year’s ABCT got me in my feels- it was my first time bringing students with me. All of a sudden, I’m the professor encouraging my students to go to sessions and cheering them on while they present. (3/4)

I distinctly remember leaving that conference motivated, thinking it was so cool to see all these researchers chatting about science, brainstorming about therapy, and hanging out with friends. (2/4)

Warning: 🧀 cheesy post incoming. I attended my first #ABCT way back in 2013 as a first year grad student in a masters program. My advisors at the time, Drs. Brooke Whisenhunt and Danae Hudson encouraged me to go with the lab because they thought it’d be a good learning opportunity 1/4
