I would first check, if the ion source voltage is ok (acquisition method can change to default value after the machine restarts). Also check if the voltages in software diagnostics are all ok. It is possible that Your HV supply to died
11.07.2025 09:18 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0This also wastes humanity's resources, btw. The fact that there is no publication of stuff that doesn't work means that a bunch of people can independently try the same failing approach without ever knowing what was done before them, or having any way to know. Over and over again.

New research has found that climate change and cheese quality are closely linked – with drought reducing grass, altering milk, & muting flavour.
Here's my poetic interpretation: scienceblog.com/thepoetryofs...

Comic. [block quote] “Far better an approximate answer to the *right* question, which is often vague, than an *exact* answer to the wrong question, which can always be made precise.” -John W. BTW, You used "Orbitrap" and "discount" in one sentence. This made me giggle ;)
Yeah, just remember that specs for these two are not identical. This $1M difference may have something to do with the small thing called the Orbitrap, that they put inside the Astral. Is it worth $1M? This is a completly different question.

I personally used it for some Lys-rich proteins (should work well for histones) but not for global proteomics, as it is a bit expensive. Here is a nice paper from Olsen lab though: www.mcponline.org/article/S153...
