Oh yeah this is similar to an equivalence test
11.08.2025 11:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
So you want a simultaneous test of three things:
b1 != 0 &
b2 != 0 &
b1 x b2 = 0
Not sure how that would work but itβs an interesting puzzle. I wonder if itβs as simple as imposing model constraints, or setting your b1 and b2 null hypotheses around some other value besides zero

Thereβs probably more than one way to do this. Why wouldnβt an R-squared for the model with both predictors (vs model with neither) do the trick?

Data come in many different formats and are used in many different ways, but in many cases, a checklist like this (along with good data documentation) can help you verify if a dataset is in a usable format for most general purposes.

Does data quality drop when participants respond to #EMA / #ESM surveys in the presence of others?
We explored this in a pooled analysis of 4 ESM studies and found (subtle) shifts in burden & response behavior depending on participantsβ social context:

Lysenko forced farmers to plant seeds very close together because he (incorrectly, against all evidence) believed that seeds of the same plant wouldnβt compete with each other. This led to famine in Russia and China that killed ~30 million people. He also imprisoned & executed dissenting biologists.

I can get software (R plus Blimp, an imputation program) to run on one node of an HPC, but not the other.
1. I use a container so it's not a package version issue.
2. The nodes use the same version of Linux
3. The slurm is the same so it's not resource allocation.

Reminder: A little under 2 months left to submit to our special issue in Psychology of Addictive Behaviors (deadline: September 30)! We're seeking empirical studies & theoretical reviews that tackle the mixed evidence around whether and why people use substances to regulate their emotions.
