I think that was the symptom of having our first choice full backs out. In return we did get a lot of threat from BDB which Tino or Lewis wouldn’t have given us (knockdowns on the long balls).

True. Sadly the smaller pond of elite players has a lot more mercenaries in it. We’re going to have to go through this like you say.

Best way to defeat it, is to be an elite club! Over to the commercial team to sort that out. New training complex, etc.

I’d argue not every player wants to be a from page villain to make a move happen. There will be plenty in the dressing room who care what their club mates think of them.
On top of that, very few players will ever be as sought after as Isak. He genuinely would slot into any club in the world.

We might potentially be able to attract an established CF who hasn’t been considered now that he isn’t sticking around. Someone with eyes on the WC wouldn’t have wanted to be trying to play ahead of Is**

I’d LOVE it if the Wissa JSL media push is just to get the hopes up of Liver**** and stop them getting another CF in by deadline. Keep Isak and leave them hanging and short of a striker until at least January.
