Either case if there is a VP vacancy, the president nominates a new VP. If they're approved by the Senate, they become the new VP. 🛑

Congress has 3 weeks to discuss amongst themselves and vote on the proposal to remove the president. If 2/3 of the House and 2/3 of the Senate agree to the motion, the president is removed, and the VP becomes president. If either house can't get the 2/3, the president stays president...

... and they become president again, the VP becomes VP again, and their relationship gets very icy.

If they wish, the VP and at least half the cabinet have 4 days to send another letter to Congress saying "No, they really *aren't* 'fine'." Congress has 48 hours to take up the issue.
