I'm writing a book. Every working day begins with me rewriting what I wrote the day before, and the day before that. If your reaction to that is "AI could save you that trouble," I know you're not a writer. Computer programs can't sleep on it, can't dream an idea, can't suddenly realize something.

On Sunday in Gaza, 67 members of the Abu Nasser family were finally recovered from beneath the rubble of their home. For 474 days, their bodies lay trapped under the remains of a five-story building destroyed in the terrorist Israeli strike of October 29, 2024, an attack that killed more than 200 people in a single day.

Notes:
1- There were no Red Cross teams or emergency vehicles present to assist in the recovery.
2- Only one excavator was available to dig through the massive destruction left behind. The process was slow, painful, and carried out largely by local civil defense workers and grieving relatives.

3- More than 40% of those recovered were children.

4- Despite the scale of the tragedy and the extraordinary delay in recovering the victims, no major Western mainstream media outlets reported on the recovery.

For the families in Gaza, this was not breaking news; it was the continuation of a loss that never ended.

On Nov. 16, a mental health counselor recorded in Kamilla’s medical records that her mother reported the girl had lost her appetite after being “served food that contained worms.”

A week later, the couple said, children were told to gather in the gym for what they believed would be a Thanksgiving celebration. Excitement spread as families saw tables set with turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, they said. The children waited expectantly. But when a parent asked when the celebration would begin, Oksana said, staff told them the holiday meal was for employees, not detainees.

The children, she said, watched despondently as the feast was packed away.

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

75 Irish citizens served in IDF during Gaza genocide Micheál Martin won't answer questions about them.

The Ditch can reveal that 75 Irish citizens have served in the Israel Defense Forces during its genocide in Gaza.

Opposition asked government about Irish nationals serving with Israeli forces – while they committed war crimes – two years ago.

Facebook post by Greg Hughes, Highland Radio, Co. Donegal: Despite a written request from Donegal Airport, the Department of Transport has confirmed it is to execute a new contract for the Donegal-Dublin PSO route with Emerald Airlines.
Donegal Airport requested a delay so it could conclude legal advice on the issue on the grounds that the proposed contract introduces unprecedented changes in the material terms of the PSO.
Local officials claim the Department of Transport refused to discuss a new contract for months.
Despite several attempts to get answers during the bidding process, the Department reportedly told them they couldn't talk until the final deal was signed.
Officials say the Department has known since October 2025 that the new proposal included major changes to the current contract. These specific changes include:
The aircraft was no longer going to overnight in Donegal Airport, which was the case for the preceding 21 years and which gave a confidence to time-critical users of the certainty of departure on the morning flight.
The midday flights would no longer be provided, replaced instead by a 6 30am flight arriving from Dublin and an 8 30pm flight leaving Donegal.

Protesters gather at the Stonewall National Monument in NYC after the Trump administration removed the LGBTQ+ Pride flag from the site. Queer advocates say the move is part of a broader effort to narrow how queer history is told on federal land.
