None of the people I went to highschool with were adults.

Funny enough I didn't know anyone in middle school who was trans, but I just met 2 people from middle school who's trans. Oh, and me. And those are the ones I know of.

and that's not even mentioning how many people came out after highschool

You're more likely to be assaulted by a trusted adult than a stranger. Though a lot of religious institutions protect the assaulter and shame the child being assaulted. Teachers are more likely to be caught due to the fact schools don't protect them like churches do. But be careful about parents.

And that's the good ending. Some parents are willing to kick children out if they so much as hint that they might be queer.
