Rainy morning in Hamilton, so I’m catching up on some TV… The White Lotus, Daredevil and Jack Reacher represent as broad a spectrum of TV, but it’s refreshing to jump from genre to genre :)

Love this. One of my favourite albums of all time.

I’ve started all 4 of the recent AC games (Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla and Mirage), and I’ve completed exactly 0 of them.
I recently reinstalled, Origins and I do plan to power through as much as I can with the time that allows before AC Shadows drops.

Little cozy Sunday morning with indie gem Crypt Custodian by solo developer Kyle Thompson. Really incredible achievement.

Great art style, relatively approachable puzzles and combat (it’s not Souls inspired).

I don’t think there’s a continued need to prove your math. It’s still napkin math unless it’s posted to shareholders. Theoretical numbers don’t drive the stock price.

Also, I’ve not at all argued with that profitability; I’ve only questioned their necessity for a new handheld and we dissolved here.

I think the major shift that Microsoft’s boxes are just not profitable. The only reason they aren’t abandoning is because they don’t want to alienate their player base. Otherwise, they’d take that profitability as a publisher and run. That’s my opinion, at least.

Gotta be release order for me. Although, by the end, you’ve gone through 6 films that are a pretty big slog.

I’m not alone questioning the console strategy. I’m also not delusional to understand that they don’t make money. I would question whether the Xbox gaming revenue is truly higher than Nintendo and Sony, though. Maybe now it is with the Activision acquisition). They stand to make more as a publisher.

I don’t think I’ve said anything that implies I have my head in the wrong place… I simply question the strategy because if they are, as you say, attempting to make more money, launching a new console (handheld or otherwise) is not the path to do that. Sales this and last gen have proven that.

This is fantastic news. It does beg the question though, if Microsoft intends to put heavy support behind the Switch 2, is there really space for an XBOX handheld within the household ecosystem with the likes of Steamdeck, ROG, Mobile and the aforementioned Switch 2 (and selfishly the PS Portal)?
