The Legend of Zelda: Rebuilding Hyrule 💖

The Pokopia announcement made me excited for a Zelda x Animal crossing game, so I spent like 9 hours over the weekend drawing this 😅

Her short, 90s pixie cut hair is pink on top and turquoise on the bottom here. She's also wearing two bead bracelets: one pink, purple, and teal; one light and dark blue. The speech bubble has a polygonal heart and a happy emoticon face. My artist signature is on the bottom-right.

Third Outfit of the Day! Getting more into stuff inspired by my outfits now xD I smooshed several of my tops together to get this GameGirl shirt! (The katakana reads "Gemu Gaaru") :3 The original was very different to start with!

I've been horribly addicted to Balatro since I started playing it in April 😂 I found my favourite decks & jokers and basically just stick to those haha

Digital painting study of a metal sphere, with vibrant colours added. I used an image of a metal sphere as a direct reference, although that reference had a lot less colour. The sphere sits on a turquoise ground plane, with a subtle pink-purple-peach gradient in the background.

Reference for my material study painting. A silver metal sphere sits in a white void, casting a shadow on the bottom. It strongly reflects the light directed towards it, and there are subtle colours seen in the reflections.

Man, turns out trying to paint metal as a sphere is super challenging?! I'd like to revisit this later on, but I still had fun! Looking forward to doing more of these with different materials - especially ones of faux fur and crystal!

I said this to my friend last night and I think it's a good thing to think about:

If no one else, make art for your younger self. Make art of your ocs that your younger self would have dreamed to be able to draw. Make art that would make them keyboard smash an excited reply to. Make art for you.

As a Queer and Neurodivergent person myself, I know it's been awful seeing all the news this year. But we'll get through this! And I'll keep trying to share some hope and happiness the only way I know how. 🏳️‍🌈✨

I can't do much in these scary times, but I can make art that (hopefully) makes people happy. I want to make more pieces later this year!

My Trans friends, I see you. My Queer friends, I see you. My Neurodivergent friends, I see you. <3 Keep creating; keep finding joy in what you love.

I first had the idea for Retro Rainbows back in April 2024. I wanted to share my favourite colours, nostalgia, & aesthetic with everyone. It quickly evolved into a series for Pride, and I'm really happy with how it turned out! But I also felt compelled to make it, given how the world is lately...
