I've not tried it and have no intentions on forking money on anything that isn't OEM (even if reviewing them would be great), but the diagonals indeed seem to be something that will put off serious players in games like SM64 and possibly GoldenEye for manual aim. Is it slower to turn while aiming?

Perfect Dark has no system link support so you can only play it through the custom Xbox Live servers. They work as far as I know but the experience will be laggy just like on Xbox.

It'll almost certainly work, I once found an N64 sitting on a barn for who knows how long with clear marks of being under the rain and rusted internals... and it worked without issues.

No, you need local networks so it's the only way to play online.

It's just your typical lag compensation. You may get killed behind a wall but it's no different to Source games I'd say. Your kills won't be delayed or anything, feels really good!

It won't work, even if Xenia Netplay was ported to Series X you'd need a VPN for people to connect to, this requires Radmin VPN / Hamachi / Any other alternative so that's not possible on console.

Xenia Netplay recently released the 5.0 version and the stability improvements are amazing.

We are able to play GoldenEye XBLA against players in Australia while I'm here in Spain with no desync or any input delay.

The setup is also much simpler now, I'll have a tutorial soon!

You better give it a go soon because it's leaving tomorrow! I think it was at 55h left when I recorded it earlier this morning. You can replay it if you buy The Banker DLC or use Peacock though.

This demo. It is actually in-engine. I was one of three level designers that worked on it. It worked best if you played it the way the person playing in the video plays it, but it still worked even if you didn't hit the marks perfectly.

It's a very sad day to be a fan of these games. :/

Perfect Dark Zero also plays really nicely on Xenia Canary with the 60FPS patch.

Rare and Microsoft forgot about PD long before this game's cancellation. Zero is broken since 2006, never bothered to fix or update it for Series X, and the XBLA remaster is full of issues as well. It's on our hands.

On my pinned post I have a guide on how to play Perfect Dark (classic) on the native PC port which features tons of quality of life updates and is definitely the way to go these days for the original game.

I was hoping that this new Perfect Dark was just following the steps of every other PD title in the past, having a very rocky but ultimately successful release. At times I doubted it but I was optimistic.

I guess Xbox has other plans.
