A human hand, presumably regular sized, as in not some inhuman giant hand or anything, just a regular normal hand, and in it is held three baby turtles OMG they are so cute they aren't even as wide as a single finger! Just tiny little guys! Can you believe it??? They look very sincere and polite I wish I could feed them little leaves or other turtle food. They are adorable and you love them. π«π Say you love them. Say it.
Excuse me: bb turtles

The oceans have boiled and the drinking water is gone but at least all the intellectual property has been stolen and now I can use AI to create a really accurate representation of Batman fucking Pikachu
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing? 2? Questions I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up. Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?
If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.

16.09.2025 12:14 β π 817 π 229 π¬ 17 π 19Said this in the Vulture slack, but this Emmys made me angry. Not because of the results: Lots of great choices from what was a great year of TV.
But the show had zero interest in celebrating TV: No montages, no clips (with sound) from the shows, and no interest in anything remotely surprising

15.09.2025 01:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What pisses me off about this deducting money from a charity bit is that it assumes the viewers want the speeches to be short. And we don't, at least not all of us!
Why do awards shows constantly try to tell the few people who still watch them that they are dumb for liking them?
OK, putting the money counter on when someone is basking in their win is just gross. Itβs a fun idea but the Emmys shouldnβt be a reality show.

The city that gave the world Siskel & Ebert no longer has a full-time print film critic.

Cool.
a long, light brown creature rests on her back. her eyes are drooping closed, her tongue sticks out a teeny bit, and she has no visible ears. her front paws (flippers?) are tucked up close to her body like a t-rexβs arms. the long noodle body has no other appendages within frame. With The Hunt for Gollum, weβll get to see what Gollum was up to in the years between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
