Drinking water will be provided, but bring a snack or your lunch, to keep your internal fires fed.

IMPORTANT: HOW TO GET THERE!!

Each attendee will be able to work hot glass at the blowing station to create a smaller item of their choice. This is just in time for a Valentine's heart or an ornament, made by you!

The event will start with a demonstration of furnace glassblowing at Houston's first dedicated glass studio, including a large scale item.

Tickets:

$90 - non-members

$85 - members

($40 = Workshop Fee and Demonstration/Safety Training, $50 = Materials Fee for take home creation)

Last Saturday the women of WiVLA learned a lot about the history and artistry of doll making on the tour of Ann Leis' collection. We also enjoyed the Alice in Wonderland Themed Tea Party.

Some examples will be provided and you can also bring your own, either original or favorites. Any items you bring to read should also be available as a screen share. Geared toward poets, poetic flash writers, and people who love to read poetry out loud.

This class explores clues on the page and how to use them to shape your reading. This includes alliteration, enjambment and spacing. Not only will you build awareness of how to read these clues, you’ll also become aware of how to use them better as a writer to guide your readers.

WiVLA member Katherine McDaniel will lead a class via Zoom on how to use clues on the written page to improve and energize your reading performance and how to use those clues in your writing to help readers understand and communicate your intent.
