love olivier & akro so idc, but im so lost

#sotd Dossier Floral Marshmallow (Love Don’t Be Shy Dupe). Near identical dupe except it does too much so it’s too sweet and enveloping for me. If you are into dupes, Dossier has very professional packaging and free returns so you won’t feel unsatisfied without the real thing.

#sotd elorea water | even though ive smelled this combo so many times, this was just so viscerally bright, refreshing, & thirst quenching. their store is also so great. full of curious, college-aged customers with their friends. no weird pretension or stuckupness at all. i want to do a tasting there

even though fragrantica takes me on a beautiful journey through the highs and lows of human experience, parfumo has 1000% better UBI and ive fully switched over

#sotd ds & durga crush balls | i didnt have a very textural experience here. i only really got the grass. soft lawn was a much more vivid, realistic tennis fragrance. i think this is aiming for the smell of watching tennis? while soft lawn was the balls so that would track? who knows

i buy their auto or body products as gifts bc im not shelling out $500 for like a tennis ball perfume 😭😭. i might buy something at their annual sample sales eventually though

i also don’t know sadly, but ds&durga makes bowmakers-scented products for hotels. there’s usually people on mercari who sell the bowmakers soaps & shampoos they took from their hotel room for a low-ish price

like regardless of notes, they all kind of just congeal to form the same generic Fresh accord derivative of ck one

& salt is a weird note that i mostly can’t do. today i smelled & disliked ds & durga rockaway beach (though it was super realistic) bc i also dont want to smell like salty skin from evaporated ocean water. however, skylar salt air clicked for me. the mineraly salt made me feel clean, fresh & cooled

that makes sense!! maybe u like light blue & afternoon swim bc of the prominent citrus? i also like those but not most aquatics. i havent smelled wave. imo most the “freshie” perfumes smell the same & are uninspiring/dull/low energy which is why pacific chill’s concept & strange notes appealed to me

#sotd Louis Vuitton Pacific Chill part freshieTM & part $6 juice shot in a metal glass, it’s refreshing in nausea & heat. it’s more about the vibe than the notes, but you can pick them out.

i like it & love the concept, but this wouldnt inspire the “to die for” feelings u need to justify the price

i get the smoky wood for 15 minutes and im left with a drydown that coats my skin in a thin, maple syrup glaze that only i can smell for 2-3 hours. best summer, i-didnt-leave-my-house perfume

ive smelled this on people on the subway and once at lunch, someone asked me to smell them and guess their perfume. turns out both of us were wearing this. neither of us could tell through smell though bc longevity and projection is very low.

#sotd everyone likes replica by the fireplace. smoky wood & vanilla reminiscent of (goes without saying, duh) a fireplace during the winter and campfire during the summer. not too smoky for conventional tastes but not too sweet for vanilla haters.

i dislike phlur. their marketing is the worst incarnation of my problem with the new sephora “niche” generation. spraying not your baby on me was traumatizing! however, i recommend this & apricot privee (though it was blandly fruityTM when i tried on skin for the 3rd time). somebody wood is nice too

#sotd Phlur Tangerine Boy. best budget alternative to afternoon swim. it’s a watery, cooling, refreshing poolside orange of that same genre (albeit less stunning). much more energy than ck one summer daze and solid longevity. i hear this goes crazy on peoples skin, but it’s the same as paper on mine

i recommend vetiver eclarte by l’artisan, tomato by demeter, hilde soliani stecca, kewpie doll by pearfat. a lot of randos on etsy or indie comapanies will sell specific one scent perfumes for cheaper as well
