Make Fun Of Them Have you ever heard Sam Altman speak? I’m serious, have you ever heard this man say words from his mouth?Β  Here is but one of the trenchant insights from Sam Altman in his agonizing 37-minute-long p...

Newsletter: It's time for a radical new approach to tech CEOs: mocking them, because they talk like idiots and provide little value to society outside of their dedication to shareholder value. They sound stupid, they do nothing, and it's time to fight back.

Opinion | The Radical Transparency of Joan Didion (Published 2021) The sorceress of syntax, with an unrivaled eye for detail, insisted we see her.

www.nytimes.com/2021/12/24/o...

It’s a cunning invitation. Didion grasped something essential about not just journalism but life: The most trustworthy and likable guides are the ones who occasionally ask others for directions.

Having served as a Moscow correspondent in the early days of Putin's reign, this reminds me of how the Kremlin took over its own press pool and made sure that only compliant journalists were given access.

I hate to say it, but this is Trump at his best. He doesn’t even care which way the lawsuit goes. Doesn’t matter. This clip was priceless for his brand.

Of course, there actually is one social media platform that has become notorious for removing content based on whims rather than policies. It has banned journalists, blocked links to rival social media and messaging platforms, and suppressed the publication of newsworthy documents related to the 2024 election. Just today, its CEO said he would β€œfix” the company’s crowdsourced moderation tool after its user base promoted ideas about Ukraine that he personally disagrees with.

I believe the law is on this platform’s side: it ought to be able to do all of that, if it wants to. But if Andrew Ferguson is determined to get to the heart of censorship on American social networks, and root out instances of policies that only ever favor one side or another, he can start with Elon Musk’s X.

I will not be holding my breath.

Besides the bad faith and epic corruption evidenced by the letter to @robertgarcia.bsky.social from this Trump waterboy, it is β€œwhom you call a dick,” not β€œwho you call a dick.” Grammar counts, you unctuous toady of the wannabe mob boss WHOM you serve.

For all her faults Carrie Bradshaw is a good friend in the moments when her people need her. Her story is ultimately one of friendship littered with a longing to be known in the same way she knows her darlings.
