Reminder that "jaywalking" was literally made up by american car manufacturers to shift the blame for accidents from drivers to pedestrians. "Jay" was a slang term meaning "idiot" or "rube".

I'm also curious how bad actors might game GEO to artificially boost their content and what that means for disinformation awareness. It's a very new field without a lot of transparency so lots of uncertainty and unknowns.

I recognise it's quite a problematic area especially when it comes to chat bot results that don't include citations, and the impacts of a massive tail off in people linking back to original content.

For example, how a researcher could increase public engagement or ensuring that their material is seen as "authoritative" by tools like ChatGPT, or how someone writing guidance for colleagues fine tunes it to appear in an internal chat bot.

I'm mostly interested in the non-technical side of this: how content authors can adapt their writing to optimise for generative AI tools, and the alignment and tensions with trad SEO.

Banning children from using devices won't stop kids going online.
It creates secrecy, it will stop kids from talking to trusted adults when they come across dangerous content.
It also takes the responsibility from companies like X cleaning up their act on misinformation, abusive/dangerous content.

This is great. Not familiar with System 1 & 2 thinking but it reminded me a bit of Jerome Bruner's paradigmatic and narrative thinking modes. Data and intuition are 2 sides of the same coin, not opposite banks of a river of indecision.
