Markets respond positively to economic stability which makes planning easier for individuals and businesses.

When statistics on essential market indicators turn from facts to vibes, decisions become harder as trust in what otherwise would be vital economic signals erodes.

It was also the day when all attendees stocked up on stickers, conference t-shirts, books, and other materials.

Besides that, we also took the time for more networking activities, to give all the attendees enough chance to visit the Freedom Trail with booths of our partner organisations, and make new friends from all around Europe.

Our main topic however was entrepreneurship.

We discussed the state of the economy, foreign investment and capital regulation, and we heard from entrepreneurs and innovators on how they manage to grow their businesses despite the challenges of the wartime economy.

That was the day when we really dug deep into the main topics of the event: we discussed the current situation, threats of populism (not just) in Eastern Europe, and the importance of the civil society.

Another #ThrowbackThursday to this year's Ukrainian Renaissance conference - this time to the second day on Saturday, July 5.

Milton Friedman understood well that even well-intentioned interference into the functioning of the market more often than not yields bad results.

He was also born on this day in 1912. Celebrate today by picking up a copy of Free to Choose, or one of his other classic books!

Tariffs don't help the economy in the long term.

Minimum wage hikes don't decrease inequality.

Central planning in money doesn't produce economic stability.

Prohibition doesn't eliminate drug-related deaths.

This was a fun panel. I started my talk with, "I'm not an economist or an international trade expert, but I do know about the right's ideology and political psychology, and Trump's tariffs aren't really about economics, but about ideology and psychology. And they're even stupider than you imagine."

The three-day event started with a welcome evening and a welcome by the First Deputy Mayor of Lviv, as well the Head of Lviv Investment and Projects Office, who introduced Lviv as the city of dreamers.
