Your focus is on businesses importing to the USA. The aspect of tariffs I haven't seen a lot discussed is how tariffs (especially with de minimis gone) are affecting regular people who buy directly from foreign vendors, millions of transactions PER DAY.
A nightmare.
The enormously complex trump tariff regime represents an enormous level of hypocrisy. The admin promised deregulation but created a tariff regime that costs businesses massive amounts of time and money to comply with. Below is a graphic from Scott Lincicome of Cato showing its complexity
04.12.2025 00:41 — 👍 116 🔁 31 💬 9 📌 1I’ve been reporting about the potential connection of tariffs to small biz job losses. Scott Lincicome of Cato offers this piece discussing not just the high level of the tariffs, but the “truly insane complexity” whose “overall economic cost is likely staggering. “
