A quote on a textured cream background with a gold border and decorative gold quotation marks. The text reads:

“I have been in a spiritual practice in the last few years of following that interaction between my gut and the divine. It brings me to the fullest expression of my Self. Shedding the limitations I once held as law within my body and spirit, I hear The Devil’s story of carving out freedom for one’s Self. We set ourselves up for failure when we chase only light and run from shadow. When we spend so much precious energy on being good, we forget that wickedness and virtue will always be imposed upon us by those in power. What happens when we hold our own power? I believe we temper ourselves into something more whole, more holy as we become our truest Selves.”

A woman with long, light brown hair smiles at the camera in a forest. She is wearing a beige jacket with a black zipper detail. The sun shines brightly behind her, casting a warm glow and creating a lens flare. Bare trees surround her, and fallen leaves cover the forest floor, suggesting a late autumn or early winter setting.

"With The Devil, I think of the shadow self, syzygy, exploration, and an insatiability for life—qualities that make us human. When we deny ourselves and fail to acknowledge the shadow—those repressed corners of our subconscious—it’s as if we’re saying that a part of is non-existent. In this way, The Devil forces us to face what we have been avoiding, often through discomfort.”

A quote on a cream background with gold decorative elements reads:
“The Devil says that when we are in a double bind, the thing to do is to be a pattern-breaker, even if it means looking ‘bad’ to those who benefit from the pattern continuing. That won’t mean instant liberation, but injecting a bit of chaos and disruption is a place to start. Perhaps ironically, that requires a leap of faith; a leap that can bring us closer to love, better choices, and opportunities for repair again.”— Lane Smith from 78 Acts of Liberation

Beltane is upon us: a time of becoming, of desire. What better time to be finalizing the editorial for a literary journal devoted to The Devil tarot card?

This is a body of work remembering its wildness: fecund, molten, and unrepentant.
It will be available in early Fall 2025. More updates soon.

We've been tending to Devil stories for the next issue of The Rebis. So much magazine alchemy in progress.

We're learning that The Devil is about aliveness, and the strength it takes to face our darkness. Personally, and collectively.

Thanks for your patience as we build the next issue.
