There are tough anniversaries at this time of year and I was feeling pretty blue, but hanging out with a friend all weekend really lifted me out of that. But how to say that without making things weird? I’m not sure we as a friends pair or even as a larger society are there yet. And it’s sad.

Assuming he‘s telling the truth (*cough*) and Carney apologized, he still didn‘t restart the talks. He‘s holding onto the punishment despite getting an apology. Even by his own story, he is a man of no honour.

There’s a Trick or Treater going around collecting with a shopping cart. The kid’s got moxie. I respect the hustle.

It’s my personal sunken cost fallacy that I keep watching Outlander. There are no more nude scenes, I forget who all these people are, and the only character I like is Rollo the dog.

Sunday night and British crime dramas on PBS. It’s like baseball on the radio — I just like the sound and cadence of it. Whatever happens is incidental and unimportant.

So I slipped someone my number, and to my surprise, she used it! Turns out she’s attached. So here’s a question — why’d ya use it?

I’m in an extended break from dating (which I need), but in the absence of anything new, my brain insists on running through the tapes on my past relationships. Once again and as ever, my brain insists that I not be content in my life.

Turns out I know someone who guest-starred on The Littlest Hobo. This pleases me to no end.

Some sleuthing, and I found out who I was hitting on the other night, before Mom proved a terrible wingman by taking over the convo and making it about herself. So, turns out the woman was out of my league anyway. That’s a consolation, right? *sigh*

I start chatting someone up across from Mom, Mom joins in and makes the conversation all about her.

My mother is the worst wingman. Just the worst.

Just realized that two unconnected people who knew me at different times in my past may have a connection to each other professionally. And what a conversation they could have if they ever started talking on a personal level. If they only knew…

Debating whether or not to go to my law school‘s 25th reunion. Do I want to go? No. Do I want to look like chickenshit in not going? Also no. This means I may have to break my vow to myself never to see certain people‘s faces ever again.

But I was entertaining myself, so there was that.
