08.10.2025 00:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0On Saturday night we hosted about 60 Good People at TinkerTendo for a dinner to celebrate David Gelles and his new book Dirtbag Billionaire, about Yvon Chouinnard and Patagonia.
Big thanks to Esther Yoon, Matt Mullenweg, Hanif Sadr and especially Karin Justine Johnson for making this all possible.
Last call for our 191st GP Dinner this Tuesday, October 7th in San Francisco. Chef, menu, speaker, venue and other details are all here.

Good. An abrupt interruption might wake some people up.
I would join a general strike as well.

Eric Adams started with strong support among Black and working-class voters. By the time he dropped out Sunday, his re-election effort was polling below 10%. Hereβs how a swirl of scandals and accusations of corruption led to his decline. nyti.ms/3IMncRE

Every day we spruce up. Every step improves the experience for Camp Earnest visitors.
More signs went up, to help guests navigate more easily.
The new ice-maker works great!
New solar lights went up on the mural across from the lodge, the Tuolumne sign and the sign at the Cedar Springs gate.
Next level campaigning. Out-entertain the plutocracy.
09.09.2025 03:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I lived in San Francisco for 22 years before we transitioned to the mountains.
This spiritual materialism is one of two things I feel relieved to have distance from.
The other is myopic technology solutionism, as in, "don't worry about climate change or biodiversity loss. AI will fix that."
We have a Mountain Paradise sign that hung at our Tuolumne gate for a year or so, but it was only one-sided.
Karin suggested we move this one to our gate on Cedar Springs Road and Mike made this live edge sign two sided and illuminated by a solar real estate light that turns itself on at night.
Anyone who feels the ethical dissonance of old systems that are degrading ecological health and failing to provide widespread dignity or fulfillment.
06.09.2025 04:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Business leaders, entrepreneurs and other professionals who want to create products and services within frameworks aligned with their values.
People who have or wish to develop clarity of vision for a world that works for all, and an abundant biosphere full of thriving and diverse life.
Public servants and government officials who are hungry for a "blue sky" approach to serving their constituency's needs.
Designers who have worked in philanthropy or academia and found their most audacious proposals sidelined again and again.
It is ideal for anyone ready to step into the exciting and often intimidating landscape of exponential impact and the exploration of genuinely new horizons.
Consider joining us if this sounds like you:
This retreat is for people who are frustrated at the limited avenues and degrees of impact offered by legacy systems.
This retreat is for pioneers who can see with great clarity the better world we know is possible.
Good People,
We still have a few spots available for our Design for Exponential Impact retreat next month here at Camp Earnest.
Perhaps you're wondering if this cohort and subject matter are right for you?

There's a border we inherited in front of the lodge, between the gravel and the wood chips. It's been demarcated by small wood rounds that had thoroughly rotted.
So we tore these out and replaced them with a nice local black granite. Soon we'll fill this sloped peninsula with fresh wood chips.
