I didn't have this on my 2025 bingo card, an unsolicited gen AI review in a podcast style of my paper, voiced by an AI with a British accent. weird. also no.

Taking required security training today; have to love the metacognition that describes this image as "bad representation of a cyber criminal"

As a professor of English, allow me to try, humbly and with the proper respect, to offer an appropriate response to the President’s address:

Fuck you, you fucked-up fuck, and fuck all the fuckers who willingly fuck with you, especially. You can all fuck all the way off, and then fuck off some more.

My understanding is that the proposed changes are not for subject headings but for descriptors, but I may have misconstrued the wording shared by a colleague. And also, yes, it sucks that this is their priority!

Some public libraries offer reciprocal borrowing privileges to folks living in neighboring counties so it’s worth checking to see if you have access to them πŸ˜‰

My crafty friend made me a positive potato recently, and I had to share! This delightful desk companion is holding a little whiteboard, but I messed up and used a permanent marker on it. 🀷 It's still perfect!

Stumbled upon a thank you note that I tucked into prize bags for randomly-selected students who completed a post-instruction session evaluation. What kind of swag? Whatever's on hand: yo-yos, temporary tattoos, clicky pens, phone wallets... Incentives make a difference in results!

Photo of items on a wooden bench, including a sign that says "Rate this event" and "pick a gem and drop it in a jar" plus 3 jars which indicate options to rate the event. Jars have the following labels: on a scale of 1 to 3, this event is 1 = nah; this event is 2 = meh, and this event is 3 = slay. There is also a small bowl full of colorful plastic 'gems' that let folks choose a gem and drop it in the jar that matches their rating.

#AcademicLibraries Today's task: helping our libraries' social media intern take photos of our new assessment tool which we hope will provide us with good feedback from students attending our events. Vocab was tested with current students (1=meh, 2=mid, 3=slay)

Not every library can purchase/rent every book, and their choices are guided by their collection policies, so it is possible that your library may not get the book you want. BUT, it's always good to ask, and libraries do appreciate community recommendations (but also, $$$)

#AcademicSky, let's get to know each other! Quote this & tell me: 1) a project you are working on & 2) an odd idea/theory you aren't working on but keep thinking about.
1. event assessment using 'gems and jars' scale of 1-3
2. F1 drivers have to do more promotion than other athletes; at what cost?

it is weird, agreed! we tend to make this an opportunity to nudge students and other visitors to "thank a librarian" or ask them "what do you love about libraries?" on our whiteboard which takes the relationship stress out of it (we hope!)
