Jessie, I hear you. But I live in Alaska, and was adamantly against RCV when it was on the ballot. But I’ve seen what RCV can do. In dark red states it allows moderate candidates to succeed. Would I rather have a progressive? Sure!!! But that’s not going to happen in bright red areas.

We have ranked choice voting in Alaska, and it is the one and only reason we’ve had more moderate candidates win. I am NO Lisa Murkowski fan, but if we’d had traditional primaries and traditional voting here, you’d have Kelly Tschibaka, who is Sarah Palin on steroids as Alaska’s Senator.

I saw another post on this story and a commenter wondered whether the kids could be punished under the school’s zero tolerance policy. I sure as hell hope not. He exited his vehicle, leaving it blocking traffic, and came at those kids. They acted in self defense.

Right??!! Grown man gets out of his truck, leaving it in the middle of the road to block traffic, starts a fight with kids, and physically assaults them. It doesn’t matter what the kids were doing or saying. There is zero justification for him getting out of the truck.
