Your theory falls just on the example of LA. Same goes for Chicago. Neither city, despite gun regs, are somehow unarmed pushovers. The presence or absence of sane laws against open carry is completely moot regarding trump's ICE campaign. Oppo doesn't neatly follow gun regs nor political stripe.

ICE has to be stopped, plus the entire trump shitshow, agreed. But I worry about the temptation to violence. It's incredible and fortunate it hasn't happened already. And returning to our point of dispute, it started in LA, right? The first militarized transgressive ICE bs. NOT a gun free zone.

trump is harrassing blue political zones, out of vindictive authoritarian insanity. It does not follow that theyre avoiding the probability or effectiveness of any armed pushback. Those risks are non-zero everywhere, and they would welcome such a blunder anywhere it they can induce it.
