The Labour leadership's political choices caused the Runcorn defeat.

Policies that alienate Labour voters are making it much easier for Reform to win seats.

Bold policies that rebuild Labour's voter coalition are the only way to stop Reform.

Sign the Petition TAX WEALTH – DON'T CUT DISABILITY SUPPORT

I've launched this petition calling for wealth taxes, not disability support cuts.

I'll present this in Parliament ahead of any vote on these cruel cuts - as part of the campaign we need to get as many MPs as possible to vote down these cuts.

Cuts for the poor. Handouts for the rich.

That’s what this Labour government stands for.

We believe in something different. Sign the Dignity Declaration at thedignitydeclaration.co.uk

After 14 years of Conservative rule, we were told that austerity was over. That was a lie.

A statement from The Independent Alliance on the Chancellor's decision to abandon those in need.

There will be many Lab MPs who toe the party line but disagree with the welfare cuts (& other policy) Why? Power? Career advancement?

Wake up. Find your morals. You won’t have a career to advance by the next GE.

Represent your constituents, not your own ambition. You were elected for the former.

They’re not just continuing austerity. They’re throwing the kitchen sink at it.

We did not vote for this. This is not β€˜change’. This is more of the same, and some.

@allisongardner.bsky.social @davidwilliamsmp.bsky.social @adamjogee.bsky.social (& Gareth Snell) do you oppose the Government's cruel welfare cuts?

The people of Stoke-on-Trent & N-U-L did not vote for austerity, or to further impoverish the people who need our support most.

At Prime Minister's Questions, I called on the Prime Minister not to cut support for disabled people and instead to introduce a Wealth Tax on the very wealthiest in our society.

Labour could tax the super-rich to end poverty, build social housing and fix our NHS.

They are choosing to go after the worst-off instead.

For a while, many people didn’t know what this government stood for. They do now: tough choices for the poor, endless money for war.

The precise moment my support for Keir Starmer began to crumble Labour is going to prevent refugees from ever becoming citizens of Britain

Writing this with a heavy heart: the refugee citizenship ban is the single most unconscionable policy Labour has proposed since it entered power. It’s the moment that I felt my support for this administration begin to crumble inews.co.uk/opinion/colu...

What you are seeing this morning over the refugee decision is Labour alienating and offending its remaining liberal supporters without bringing any new voters onside.

Labour pushing so pathetically hard for the Reform vote - a vote they’re likely never to gain whatever they do.

Meanwhile, alienating their actual main voter base. πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸ»

Richard Tice and Nigel Farage caught NODDING at #PMQs when Keir Starmer says Reform UK would replace the principle of the NHS being free at the point of use, for everyone, with an insurance-based model.

Selling off our country's greatest achievement.

Under-reported by the media but also under-reported by Labour.

Stuff like this lands a lot better than worthless Tory-esque soundbites like β€˜We’ll put more money in your pocket!’

Today Conservative MPs will seek to block a piece of legislation that will actually help protect vulnerable children from abuse, in order to gain a few retweets from a far-right billionaire.

A little insight into the hypocrisy of the Conservatives and Reform UK.

They want a national inquiry into child grooming gangs. To do it, they've suggested a change to the government's Child Wellbeing and Schools Bill.

The rules say if a change is made at this stage, the whole Bill is dead.

That means no inquiry - but also no breakfast clubs. No making school uniforms cheaper. No keeping better tabs on children who fall out the system (vital after Sara Sharif).

But if there is a vote, Labour MPs will have to vote against an inquiry to save the Bill.

And you just know the right will milk that β€œLabour voted against an inquiry into child grooming gangs” angle for all it’s worth.

The politicisation of this issue has to stop. It is disgustingly cynical.

It will end up harming children.

It's now up to the Speaker if this change is selected for a vote.

I don’t think it should go to people who don’t need it, but taking away the universalism means that people who do need it will miss out. There are better ways to raise funds for public services than impoverishing the poorest & weakest of society who will in turn put strain on public services

They could donate it to a charity or Foodbank if they wish. Plenty of pensioners have said that that’s what they already did/do. Plenty don’t, and that’s fine as well. At least those who need it most will get it.
