The key point is that it's still wireless *enough* to move between the sim rig and the desk.

Turns out one of the power fluctuations surged through my USB hub and roasted the port that the mouse's transponder was in, which partially roasted the transponder itself. It works, but its range is reduced (now ~2ft).

The solution? Not a new mouse, or even a new transponder.

USB extension cord.
