I realize posting this here is preaching to the choir. But after the Grok White Genocide thing & Ye essentially launching an exclusive Neo Nazi single on the platform... I felt motivated to write about X and how bizarre it is that so many people (news outlets, celebrities, politicians) use it

when the EU is interested.

In any case, it is a different thing to ask, should Canada apply for membership in or seek closer relations with the EU. The act of applying or expressly pursuing have their own implications and ramifications separate from membership etc.

International relations are by definition about more than one party. It takes two to tango. Thus the question of EU membership for Canada has to be assessed from both sides, not just Canada's, of course. As the smaller party, Canada has historically always been the demandeur. Things happen though...

I have a number of reactions but first of all the geographic objection. It's worth pointing out that Turkey has been a member of NATO for a long time. Geographic identifiers can be read in various ways and even ignored when needs must.

How Canada could get much closer to Europe In the face of economic tensions with the United States, Canada must explore new alliances. Would applying to join the European Union be a viable solution?
