Successful premiere of 🇩🇪🤝🇱🇻 defense cooperation! On Nov 12-13, 170 German & Latvian industry reps met in Riga to explore joint opportunities. From DIEHL to startups like QUANTUM SYSTEMS, innovation & partnership were key. Together for European security!

I am honoured to join our 🇱🇻Latvian friends on #Lāčplēšadiena, commemorating those who fought for the independence of Latvia.

With their courage and desire for freedom, the people of the GDR brought down the Berlin Wall. The division of Germany is history. The commitment to freedom is more important today than ever. Freedom is not a given.

It was inspiring to talk to such active, creative and politically interested youth in a simulation exercise. The day left me with the feeling that the future of the 🇪🇺is in good hands. Great thank you to Eiropas Parlaments 🇱🇻 and over to you @mlafontrapnouil.bsky.social , who will host next group.

Very pleased to meet a group of trainees of the 🇩🇪 Federal Police in our Embassy. Really appreciated exchange on police work in the European context. Thank you for your spirit as shown in the pretty picture that you gave to the Embassy – “Police of the 🇪🇺 – you’ll never walk alone”. Here we go!

I am delighted that we can support a project of Latvian transatlantic organisation this year which is dedicated to promoting media literacy and combating disinformation in the regions! Very interesting grassroots approach. We wish the project a successful start and look forward to the results.

Security, freedom, prosperity are our main interests in Europe and unity is vital. Discussing these goals with RSU students of International Relations was inspiring. Thank you for the vibrant exchange!
