I've bn reading TP since the 80s. When I was a yoof, I thought he was "very funny". Now I find that comment a red flag: yes, he's funny, but if you don't see that the fundamental thing abt him is that he very funny IN THE SERVICE OF wild anger at injustice in any form, you don't know him at all.

Today on my bird-feeder: Red Bishops (the males' plumage change almost complete); Masked Weavers, Crested Barbet; Glossy Starling; Cape Sparrows; Redheaded Finch... I woke up to the Crested Barbet's trill, they'll be raising young in my garden again this year!

Immediate freaked out reaction: it's against our culture/religion! Unknot yr knickers, people: you can choose NOT to take yr wife's name, you know. Unlike women, who for many years HAD to take their husband's.

Lives lost and lives devastated (friends who lost their jobs in a snap of the fingers). But what do these people care? To them, these shattered lives aren't real.

I always remember:
There once was a girl in Australia
Who went to dance as a dahlia
But the petals revealed
What they should have concealed
So the dress - as a dress- was a failure.

I'm not sure if people in the US heartland understand just how insane this looks to the rest of the world.

As a South African, I've never been to the Smithsonian. But has this president been? He doesn't strike me as the type. Don't you think he should be required to do a little test about the institution before making these demands?

I adore them - they keep things like the Parktown Prawn (a type of large cricket) under control & have such personalities. This pic from a Cape Town blogger, cape1picaday.wordpress.com/2021/04/02/m... :

I was told by my endocrinologist. And I read the insert, which stated the side effects clearly. And I spoke to my pharmacist. I'm in South Africa, though. Different systems?
