Yes, we agree on that, and we agree about VAR. The only point of disagreement might be whether referees make a lot of game outcome-affecting mistakes over a large sample size (without VAR), which I think they do.

I admit that "could have" is doing some heavy lifting, as the results mostly ended up being fair anyway. Newcastle deserved to win, and did, but were denied an obvious penalty and conceded an offside goal. Liverpool should have had one more. I'm thinking more about goals than match results today

Today there were several bad refereeing decisions that could have affected the outcomes of games, and VAR still sucks. Both things are true.
