Like yea, let's plan for a general strike - but what does that do NOW for folks? What does this do NOW to push back against the notwithstanding clause in this moment? Why wasn't this being prepared for all along - and why are the same folks that shrugged before now trying to lead the resistance?

I'm genuinely happy Alberta unions want to fight back against Smith's notwithstanding crap; however, I think we also need to have a conversation about how we got here - including how union inaction (writ large) has played a role. 25 years of the AFL etc. letting shit slide must be reckoned with.
