My last minutes transing on my own personal train. My train home is in a few mins. This has been a truly excellent week.

I haven’t found old the pics from this exact spot, but from the one my mum sent me of me & the cat, what’s changed is I look much more like my oldest half-brother. Which means those genes we share are strong & male pattern baldness is going to hit me hard if I ever get a GP to accept my SCA for T 😫

Another view of the cat lying by the stove. She loved a stove. At my parents’ house she would lie in the hearth with her head the stove once it had cooled enough to it to roast her. She had an overactive thyroid so was unable to regulate her body temperature well and always craved warmth.

AND my mum just sent these pics from one of my visits here a decade ago. I love and miss this cat so much 🖤🤍

My last evening transing on my own personal train. I’ve had an excellent time and while I’m eager to see P and Trapper and sleep in my own bed, I’ll miss it. I mustn’t go another 10 years before I return here!

Some haikus from my recent wanderings… 🧵

A small apple tree in a sparse hedgerow in front of a field of sheep. It has very few leaves and three dark red apples hanging form it. It looks like it’s been arranged by a set decorator rather than grown there.

Passed this little apple tree today. It’s so small, in such an unusual place, and its fruits such a rich, dark red, and the late afternoon sun highlighted them in such a way that it really felt like I’d just walked into an immersive performance of Snow White.

And LOOK at this beach. It couldn’t be more perfect. I spent a pleasant hour examining the rock pools.

I visited the Old Queeriosity Shop today and was welcomed by lovely staff and volunteers. An inclusive community space. I left with a big haul, mostly pulled from the flood damage bargain bin based on vibes alone, and—at full price—the fifth Heartstopper and a couple of zines. Do visit if you can!

It’s a chain ferry. It’s very slow and smooth. I didn’t realise we were moving until a few minutes in.

It is! I’ve been here several times and I’m so happy to be back.
