Apple Sports app is just in time with the tennis support. It would be great to have an option for specific players as well.

I wish Apple would find a way to incentivize adding first party reviews and photos to Apple Maps. It's annoying to get booted to Yelp all the time.

How about earning iCloud storage space with each quality photo/review that is added?

iOS/iPadOS 26 is not made for black backgrounds on the homepage. App icons just look off. I may need to use a background image for the first time ever. (Probably just going to black and white my Lock Screen image)

Unfortunately the most recent 15 years hasn't been quite as good.

I try as hard as possible to stay on first party software. After years of testing everything, I just stick with apps like Mail, Notes, etc.

But, I just can't with Spotlight anymore. I slid into Raycast and it's been nice. A little learning curve but I enjoy it’s mastery of simple local search.

I'm not planning to prune just yet, but I did export all messages to text so I could search archives much quicker. For three million messages, the folder is 67MB.

All images are also downloaded to a separate folder but I deleted that for now. (It was 65GB for me)

Just tried this super useful tool for exporting all Messages from the latest 15 years. After install, it took about 15 seconds to put all past conversations in text files. Finally I can start to prune down my Messages in iCloud. github.com/ReagentX/ime...

Thanks for the informative writeup. As one who has owned every Apple product in the last 20 years, I still haven't dipped into the Vision Pro so it's nice to get updates from people who have. (PS, it looks like the last two recommended accessories don't have a link on them.)

Twelve years ago today. I loved Glassboard.

I hate seeing screenshots in my Photos library so I usually delete them. But I love seeing old screenshots. I just made a shortcut that runs every night and takes new screenshots from my Photos and puts them into Files. We'll see how that goes.

Dad tip: If you have a camera in your main family area and it captured Christmas morning, be sure to export a nice timelapse that you can enjoy when your kids are all grown up. Our morning was 4 hours from first kid awake to Christmas tree and decorations put away.
