It's a paradox! We have scored goals which is great obviously but the way we played, especially in the first half, we should be able to create far more quality chances than we do. We've had the least shots in the PL by quite a distance despite goal scoring seemingly not being a problem.

Disappointing result for Burnley after we were the better team for most of the match. Defensive lapses cost us again and not offering enough goal threat going forward. Oh well onwards and upwards still hopefully. #burnleyfc

MLB WS game 7 was an incredible piece of sport, glad I stayed up to watch and relieved I don't have to think about Seattle Mariners baseball for 5 months! Go Seahawks though!

Not much of a contest at Turf Moor sadly but at least we stuck at it and didn't fold like the Kompany team of 2 years ago. If you'd have offered us 10 points from 10 games I think every #burnleyfc would have taken that. Onwards and upwards!

Looking forward to Burnley v Arsenal today at Turf Moor. Some of their fans think it will be a walk over but we'll see! Up the Clarets #burnleyfc

The late injury time winner from Foster and save from Dubravka after that are as good as it gets for Burnley! Incredible! ⚽🍺 #burnleyfc

Jorge Polanco walks it off in the bottom of the 15th to secure a 3-2 win over the Tigers.

I will bow to your knowledge but I don't think the kick off "glanced" off anyone's hands and it doesn't matter if it did. If the kick lands in the landing zone and stops in the end zone it's a live ball. The reason teams have 2 players back to return kicks is to avoid this exact situation!

As a Burnley fan I'm completely unbiased... however from my point of view that is only 'a clear example of holding' when you overly rely on slow motion. In real time it was next to nothing and shouldn't have been one of those instances worthy of an overturn. Oh well, thanks for the replies.

Should that really enough for a VAR intervention? At normal speed it's a fleeting hold and nothing like a sustained hold the ref described in his explanation. Classic case of looking far worse in slow motion and with the still you used.

"Watch it at full speed, and there really is nothing in it. If the referee gives this on the field, fair enough, but it's not for VAR"

You could have written that word for word about the Man Utd penalty. Ref described it as 'sustained' but in reality it was a split second.

#motd coverage of Burnley remains abysmal, Burnley goals only analysed in terms of how Man Utd defended them. Also zero balance on the penalty. VAR overturn was on basis of a 'sustained pull' which it was in slow motion but in real time was a split second. No way we get that! #burnleyfc

Great win by Burnley, two great goals and comfortable in the end! Very happy with that. Up the Clarets! ⚽⚽

Peterloo Massacre happened #OTD 1819, estimated 15-18 people killed. Came during turbulent period of explosive population growth, food shortages caused by climatic disruption after a volcano erupted in Indonesia, aftermath of war, stresses of urbanisation and industrialisation.

The Big Match Revisited, 4/10/75, Coventry City 1 Burnley 2. Burnley were given a free kick in injury time for the keeper handling the ball outside the box on a goal kick which clearly wasn't handball but Leighton James scored from the free kick for the win!

33 home runs from a switch-hitting catcher before the calendar has flipped to July is truly mind boggling.

Cal Raleigh is having a historic season.

Burnley have had some great goalkeepers in recent years but Alan Stevenson was my childhood hero between the sticks. 543 games, 2nd most in Burnley history. What a fantastic keeper he was. #burnleyfc

England 3 Germany 2 in the under 21s was the entertainment I didn't know I needed on a Saturday night at the end of June! Really enjoyable game, Germany hit the bar twice but it should have been 4-0 to England at half time. Thousand times better than the senior team served up recently #ENGGER
