And conference buffet 101: when they announce it's break time bolt out like there is no tomorrow to get first pick of the food that no one else has puddled through.

My Grandma taught me that. ;)

I dunno who Dorothy is but I like the spurrs on her boots!

Book is the 1937 edition of 'They Died with their Boots On' by Thomas Ripley.

If you're in this business long enough you'll see:

- People you don't like seeing success
- People who annoy the shit out of you seeing success
- People who are successful despite incredible mediocrity (in your opinion)

You know what? Everyone deserves their success. Just keep working on your own.

The real piss off it the "personalised" ones written by ai because they have probably fed your work into an ai generator to produce them.

While at FAN EXPO recently, horror legend, John Carpenter, confirmed that he is currently working on a sequel to his classic 1982 movie, The Thing.

"We're working on it now," he said.

😯🀯

What's it going to be called? I'm voting for:

And Another Thing

5.30 am - wake up and lie there and think.
6.15 am - get up and eat breakfast (lots)
7.15 - get to work writing, writing, writing.
Noon - lunch.
1.00 to 3.00 pm - reading, music.
3.00 to 5.00pm - correspondence, maybe house cleaning.
5.00 to 8.00 pm - make dinner and eat it.
After 8.00 pm - I tend to be very stupid and we won't talk about this.

Friend of mine and I were talking about how much our grammatical education was lacking (bless the 90s!) and that we learned what a preposition was from Bevis and Butthead...

So far I have made my family watch Mars Attacks, Annihilation, and Plan 9 From Out of Space for movie night.

On the basis of sheer weird randomness, I'm pretty sure I'm either going to get banned from recommendations, or they are going to get weirder in their movie tastes... Possibly both.

The AI-response "Everything can be faked" discourse interests me partly by how much it leaves out of "everything."

AI might be able to fake a picture of a meal or video of a football match, but it can't fake the experience of eating or playing.

Being embodied seems like a kind of resistance.

All food should be made with love. These weren't. These were pure rage. Bliss balls that taste like vaguely sweet, cocoa, compressed gritty dirt. Sensory hell to make. Stupid attempt at increasing energy. Mana from hell.

(I forgot to soak the dates... πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ)

Nice to see Claire G Coleman also on the list! First Nations Australian's are brutally underrepresented in fiction and Aboriginal horror is almost non-existent.

Horror is bigger than Stephen King. These spooky Seattleites help find the right scare for you Since it's spooky season, and readers of all sorts may be looking for scares, KUOW's Katie Campbell called up a couple of local literary horror experts to talk about how the genre has evolved and who ...

Absolution featured on KUOW's recs for the "spooky season." But Absolution is also fine for bar mitzvahs, weddings, monster truck rallies, gallery receptions, etc.
