Daggerheart Encounter Builder - Forge & Frame Encounter builder compatible with Daggerheart, with complete SRD adversary database and automatic modifier calculations.

Our #Daggerheart compatible Encounter Builder was just updated to v1.1 - all Tier 1 adversaries now can be clicked on once added to an encounter to display their statblock!

Styling and mobile responsiveness is still not where I want it to be quite yet - open to any and all feedback!

I don't think they were ever intended to be anything more than play aids, though. They're essentially reference tools and a way to visualize a character's "loadout", but I don't remember them being promised as anything more.

In what way would you have wanted them incorporated into the game?

A mysterious enemy emerges in a violent wake -- an unstoppable juggernaut, aided by a small army of sellsword scum. They seek something, and nothing will distract them from their task...
Take a valuable hostage or MacGuffin -- demonstrate a brutal show of force.

FEATURES
THE UNSTOPPABLE ONE โ€“ Passive
The arrival of The Unstoppable One triggers two opposing PROGRESS COUNTDOWNS (6): one tracking the villain's relentless advance, the other measuring the party's desperate efforts to stop them.
As the Unstoppable One (your campaign's antagonist or their chief lieutenant) advances deeper into enemy territory, no force appears capable of stopping them. Even the most potent magics merely delay them momentarily.

Each time a player rolls with Fear, they must choose: tick the Villain's PROGRESS COUNTDOWN by 1 or mark 1d4 Stress.
When PCs subvert the villain's efforts by rolling with Hope, they choose one:

Temporary Reprieve Briefly hinder the juggernaut's rampage through local defenses โ€“ Tick the Villain's COUNTDOWN up by 1.

Strategic Insight Deduce the invaders' true target โ€“ Tick the PCโ€™s PROGRESS COUNTDOWN down by 1.
I AM INEVITABLE - ACTION: SPEND FEAR (X)
The mysterious villain lashes out violently! Any number of PCs within close range (up to the Fear spent) must make an Agility or Strength Reaction Roll. On failure, they take 1d6 physical damage per Fear spent. On success, they mark 1 Stress per Fear token spent.
Who is this relentless barbarian? Who or what are they looking for? Why does nothing seem to stop them?
If the players' countdown completes first: They successfully locate the villain's target and escape into the wilderness with it/them, staying one step ahead of pursuit.

If the villains' countdown completes first: They claim their prize and vanish in a maelstrom of aetheric magic, teleporting far beyond reach.
What is giving this creature itโ€™s strength? Are they truly invincible?

My brain has been buzzing since I played #Daggerheart last night -- the Environment Stats are just such a fun way to boil down and present actionable information. (I was so pumped to make this I treated myself to some beautiful stock art!)

The setting really lends itself well to this kind of thing (characters are supposed to be used to reality bending, and the idea of losing memories of other people is as commonplace as forgetting where you set your keys down) so I didn't obsess over getting the timey-wimey details correct.

And nearly stumbled upon THEMSELVES exiting the gates of the Haven to go on the mission. The consequences of getting that close to the god corpse meant that the party was displaced in time!

This was a few months ago now, GM'ing a Broken Weave campaign. Players went out for a routine mission, on the return home they stopped to harvest godbone from the shattered corpse of a god (as you do) and it triggered a secret reality-bending effect that I chose to keep secret until they got home...

It's sort of wild how drastically official WotC material has tilted away from ribbon abilities. Seems like most class and subclass features are straight mechanical upgrades now. Not a lot of things like tools, languages or non-combat abilitites/skills

Now that I am reading a copy of it, I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with Daggerheart!

The Darrington Press team have done a tremendous job at creating a unique and narrative-focused fantasy game that is just enough of a sandbox to get creative!
