When Thomas Tuchel took over at Chelsea we had just taken 7 points from our previous 8 games. Liam Rosenior also takes over when we’ve just taken 7 points from 8 games. So… I guess we know what happens next… right…?

Any Chelsea fans out there having issues with ticket forwarding for the Villa and Bournemouth games?

I checked this and it’s based on PL games only and players only, so doesn’t include Joao Pedro vs Benfica or Maresca vs Liverpool. But in both 01/02 and 17/18 we had 3 red cards by this stage of the season. In 17/18 we had two on the first day of the season against Burnley.

I wondered this too but apparently Chelsea have done it twice before, let alone anybody else.

Sorry that should be 3 wins in a row while having the same number of players as the opposition…

If you want a positive, we’ve won three games in a row if you only count the time where we had 11 men on the pitch…

Not sure how I feel about that at all. I think I’m somewhere in between “what can you do when so many things go wrong?” and “could have been different if we hadn’t bought so many defenders on as substitutes”. Still, up the Chels! #CFC

Steve Livingstone has always stuck with me. We got him in swap deal for Graeme Le Saux and I think he only ever played 30 mins for us.

I was a student when England won the Rugby World Cup in 2003. The final was at 9am or something coz it was in Australia, so a group of us said we would stay out all day and all night if England won. We got to mid afternoon and then had to go home for a nap coz we realised we weren’t gonna make it!

Completely agree with this. I think he’s trying to get his leg in front of the opponent to shield the ball, but he times it badly and ends making a terrible challenge.

Ah I see Chelsea’s plan. Get the win in the bag early for a little bit of prize money, then lose twice to maximise holiday ahead of next season. All on track so far!

They would just keep saying science is wrong. If they don’t believe we need Measles vaccines they won’t believe this!

I’m not sure to be honest, but whatever problems we have, I think they’re more about personnel and recruitment than the manager. It also feels like our chance conversion is down, so we’re less likely to go ahead (early) in games, so the oppo doesn’t get drawn out to create chances for fast breaks.

But isn’t this sort of thing also about how teams set up against us?

I think that’s fair, and there are problems, but I don’t blame Maresca for having a lack of forward options. Jackson and Palmer have been injured/out of form and nobody else has stepped up. I don’t buy the argument that Maresca has coached anything out of them.

For the record, I didn’t think Poch should have gone at the time, but I also think Maresca has had to deal with two poor transfer windows from the club and possibly has a worse squad than Poch did. And as a club I think we need some stability. There has been too much turnover under this ownership.

I could get slaughtered for this, but I would be interested to see a Venn diagram of people that currently say Chelsea should have kept Poch and people who at this time year said we should sack Poch.

Yes that does tell you the issue. But I think it’s maybe not what a lot of people say it is?
