From top to bottom, the NHL is largely a league full of white men who grew up affluent and barely finished high school.

The “old boys club” culture of the NHL will prevent them from moving forward time and time again. Hockey culture dictates that you conform. Still doesn’t excuse their complacency.

Totally agree - not surprising at all. It appears to be surprising to those who are not familiar with hockey (and/or those who really want the Hughes brother to somehow be different than the rest of them)

I can be not surprised and still disappointed and upset by the behavior and the blatant disrespect for the women's team

Re the bullshit from the US Men’s team: When I drink I give book recs, discuss how capitalism sucks, & info dump about sports. Alcohol doesn't make you an entirely different person. Open your eyes: they aren't cute memes they're helping to cause harm to those things and people you claim to love.
