Hope you don't mind me asking. A friend is curator of reptiles at the natural history museum @MarcEHJones and regularly likes your tweets on twitter. He's not sure why he's been blocked but I wonder if you would reconsider?
Thanks
CO2 emissions from China are down 1.6% for Q1 2025 and 1% for the past 12 months. The most recent peak in CO2 emissions from China was back in March 2024. Emissions are dropping because despite continuing to build out fossil fuels, renewable capacity and generation has increased in China and many sectors of their economy now have emissions that are flat or dropping.
CO2 emissions from China are down 1.6% for Q1 2025 and 1% for the past 12 months. The greater deployment of renewables relative to fossil fuels appears to be starting to cut into emissions. ๐งช๐๐กโ๏ธ๐จ๐ www.carbonbrief.org/analysis-cle...

i've wanted to do this for a long time and now that I'm only a few years from retiring it feels right.
March 2025 was tied with March 2016 and March 2024 as the warmest on record in the Berkeley Earth dataset. It was 1.55C above preindustrial (1850-1900) levels.
For more details, see the full Berkeley Earth surface temperature report for March here: berkeleyearth.org/ma...
There is no country/zone with a) high prices and low carbon emissions or b) with low prices and high emissions.
The higher the carbon emissions from electricity generation in 2024, the higher the prices and vice versa.

This scheme incentivises more efficient use of the grid by shifting most home charging to off-peak hours.

What is Trumps end game ?
The message so far is that you can no longer trust USA on the world stage and we must all become less reliant on them.

"I don't know if...."
As soon as you respond they are suddenly certain the earth isn't warming, heat pumps don't work, EVs are rubbish etc, etc.
Graphics fill of statistics on the efficiency or in efficiency of cars
A typical European car is parked 92% of the time. It spends 1/5th of its driving time looking for parking. Its 5 seats only move 1.5 people. 86% of its fuel never reaches the wheels, and most of the energy that does, moves the car, not the people.
Sound efficient?

No one ( and I mean no one) is planning to be solely reliant on wind and solar for electricity, even if the amount of W&S is increased and therefore reduces the amount of fossil fuel used.
Here's the grids plans.

Yep, he hasn't got a clue what he's talking about.
Heat pumps don't care whether the electricity is generated by wind, solar or gas. They are just a more efficient way of converting electrical energy into heat.
I'm smart enough to see you have zero evidence to support your arguments and so think spouting opinion will hide your inadequacies.
20.01.2025 17:54 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Look carefully at the text that is in quotes.
Nothing that says heat pumps are more expensive or will never be cheaper.
You've been duped.
If your home receives electricity, you can heat your home.
Without electricity your gas boiler doesn't work and the pumps that push gas to peoples houses don't work.
No electricity, no gas heating.
You really didn't think this through.
His words - heat pumps will reduce consumers bills.
"The potential around heat pumps, I think we are underestimating the extent with 1/2hrly settlement this can really make a massive difference to consumers and lead to lower bills"
Game over.
