I was editing something this morning and started wondering why anyone would be against the Oxford comma... It provides so much clarity! Anyone have a valid reason for not using it, other than "I just don't like it"?

Do you count grammarly as AI? Sometimes I will do a final check using that, just to make sure I haven't missed any "the the" or something like that

Blame society next time, just don't let them think AI would have done it better!

I don't understand academic publishers these days. You'd think, after all the horror stories and testaments about AI's 'editing', that they would just... recommend an editor? Or even - if we are being radical - hire one in-house?! But that would be the stuff of fiction...

I see this all the time! The most common question I get as an academic editor is "Why would I hire you? I can just put it through ChatGPT" ... Sure, dude, but be prepared for the outcome
