A recent conversation at work about Radio Birdman reminded me of this comp CD by The Hives that came with a Kerrang magazine a lifetime ago. Found online and I enjoyed listening to it again last week while travelling to work.

Everywhere at the end of time is such a disorienting piece of music if you let it play around you for the six hour runtime. This is my first run through this one. So far so good. At forty five minutes long it surely won't get too weird.

Death doom from Costa Rica. Done really well. Production top notch. Songs top notch. Slowly they Doom

Another great death metal album. I prefer the first one but thats the way with a lot of the old death metal bands

I started listening to the early Mortiis stuff around 5 years ago when we all had a bit of time on our hands. Never ending intros for black metal songs were what I used to write it off as. As usual, I was wrong. This is in the ball park but its own thing just as well.

This is a great death metal album. I love Dismember, but have been listening to the same 3 albums forever. This wasn't one of those. I missed the bus on it back then

I have spent most of my metal listening time with just Blood Fire Death and the Hammerheart in my Bathory diet. Time to change it up.. These Nordland albums are managing to combine epic with a side order of ropey pretty well. But it works an absolute treat walking around on winter nights.

I love listening to this Coffins album. Death metal done just how I like it.

I read a lot of war books down the years. This one shows how Germany lost the war from the point of view of their economy. Which is a gret point of view when you've read so much military discourse on the subject.

When you listen to a lot of Swans live albums they become your most listened artist even if they are not your top album. Take it easy. Happy Christmas.

I love the way the bass just wanders about on this album. Never listened to PiL until a couple of years ago.

Bands I listened to the most this year apparently. And I thought I listened to loads of 80s and 90s industrial this year

Another one that surprised me. Modern Earth hasn't been something I listen to much and The Bug never really clicked. This is kind of bleak and desolate sounding to my ears. They complement each other well.

I never listened to Integrity until a few years ago. I missed out. Bigtime.

This Earache comp opened a lot of musical doors in the same way Grindcrusher had a couple of years earlier.
Lo Flux Tube would have been my go to album of theirs then but this is also great. I missed the bus on the Formula album as I only managed to get it years after it was released.

I listened to this a lot on tape in my first car in the 90s. Industrial experimental weirdness from members that would end up in a lot of other bands including Khanate. The previous album Lo Flux Tube had a lot more metal in the sound. This was more of a trip through weirdness.

Listening to Swans, pretty regular work from home noise these days. This live one is great.

This feels much less claustrophobic and less extreme than the later Relapse albums. Which is probably why I skipped the AmRep releases for so long. Its a great album I let slide many years ago.. My tastes are changing. This sounds great to my older ears..

I missed out on Buzzoven during the 90s.i got to hear them when Alternative Tentacles released this comp in the 00s. I still listen to it regularly. #sludge

I had kind of forgotten how incredible this album was. I saw them play in a small pub in Tilburg during Roadburn 2007. Probably a top ten fig for me.

Reading a book about Swans at the moment. Enjoying it a lot.

Extreme Noise Terror doing a flat out death metal album. No complaints here. This is deadly.
