Just finished Between Two Fires, which was brilliant. Think Dark Souls with the plague running rampant.
Now I’m reading Tyll by Daniel Kehlman, which is a reimagining of a German fable and questions the blurred lines of magic and heresy. Very good, so far.

I'm not kidding when I say this should be illegal, even if it weren't also a transparent scam on this idiot's part.

Rewatched Frontier(s) last night, and now in the mood for more French extreme horror.

Jeeez, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple was superb. Beautifully shot, oddly subtle for such a grisly film, and the overarching story is one more focused on hope than grief.

Decided to lay out my top ten GotY list here…
10. Dune Awakening.
Superb survival experience with a great atmosphere. Spoiled by a wonky endgame, but the journey was stellar.

Has it finally come to Crunchyroll?!

Oooh, which ones?

1. Promise Mascot Agency.
An easy 10/10 for me, it has charm, heart, goofy humour, and a swearing severed pinky finger who will forever be my favourite gaming companion. A delight from all angles, and a game that also nails humour perfectly. Can’t wait to replay this every year!

2. Blue Prince.
By the end, I had around 12 A4 pages of notes, I was so invested in this mystery. Of course the gameplay mechanics sing, but it’s that ongoing suspense, with drip-fed clues that kept me coming back. I’ve recommended this game to everyone I know, even those who don’t play games.

3. Dispatch.
What can I say that hasn’t already been said? Perhaps this, it’s very hard to do comedy well in games, but this was perfection. Teamed with plenty of emotion and terrific acting, everyone should play Dispatch, even if you have superhero fatigue.

4. Öoo.
Metroidvania puzzling presented in a cute package that belies the difficulty and fiendish challenge ahead. Creating something this deep using simple controls should be studied as a work of excellence. I wish I could play it fresh all over again.

5. Ghost of Yotei.
Adored the first game, I’d say this was better. The atmosphere is second to none, the exploration is pitch perfect, and the action is satisfying. Blockbuster gaming done right.

6. Escape From Duckov.
I’m a sucker for extraction shooters, and Duckov scratched that itch while bringing a silly aesthetic. Amazing to think that the genre could be distilled to this tight and engaging experience.

7. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
I wasn’t as enamoured as others but there’s no doubting the sublime story, gorgeous design, and knockout performances by a wonderful cast.

8. Clover Pit.
I was obsessed with this game for many days, trying out combos and attempting the hardest challenges because the gameplay loop is so engaging. A must play for roguelike/lite fans.
