Agree it does not make sense. What is going wrong? Why do people need top ups? Why don't wages meet what is needed to live without welfare? Confusing

How do you get support in a workplace? Or at places you visit as part of your work? As in someone to assist to go to toilet? As in someone to assist to have a meal or a drink? As in someone to move your wheelchair from A to B?

@UKHSA

Most people love a bit of sunshine, but sometimes the heat can be too much, especially for older people, babies, and those with health conditions.

Find tips on how to beat the heat and stay safe this summer.

Most of society are being encouraged to hate those who are unwell whether they are or aren't disabled. Being unwell isn't a reason to hate someone. It is a time to care.

Beginning of a new era. I can feel in my core changes are afoot. Uncertainty lies ahead and less communication about to be.
Expect to see me post more frequently across social media platforms as I adjust and need somewhere to be.

Every child should be valued equally from the moment they are born.
Yet, when a child is born with medical needs or a disability, society too often sees them as a burden.
Tragically, the evidence we see throughout their lives only reinforces this painful truth.

New analysis: most care homes closed by industry regulator are run A new analysis led by researchers at the University of Oxford and funded by the Nuffield Foundation has found that virtually all care homes forced to close in England by the Care Quality Commission

Between 2011 and 2023, 816 care homes in England were forcibly closed by the regulator for poor standards and harms to residents.

804 were owned by for-profit entities. 30% -40% of fees vanish in profits, leaving less for services.

Profits and care don't mix.

Disabled people aren’t getting a free ride

Being chronically ill is not a vacation

It’s an unrelenting 24/7 fight to get your basic needs met. You’re forced into legislated poverty & expected to grovel for what little help the system will give

There’s nothing easy about it & we need more support

I have come to the conclusion "What ever will be will be"
The only thing I can control is the thoughts I choose to dwell on. Even thoughts come and go through my mind. I have no direct control over central government, local government or nhs.

If a disabled person asks for help, don’t tell them to β€œtry harder”.

Asking for help is one of the most difficult things for us, and I assure you we tried absolutely everything before we did it.

Ableism makes you think we can β€œfix ourselves”. It’s not true. You can’t try harder out of disability

Jobs fears as Access to Work disability scheme owes businesses thousands One firm says it is owed Β£186,000 by the Access to Work scheme and is worried it may have to close.

Disabled people need the dignity of work, say Ministers, while simultaneously running a broken shambolic bureaucracy that can't even pay disabled people in work on time.

I think I am different from many because I want the opportunity of employment. Currently I cannot as I am on legacy benefits. I am impatiently waiting to migrate benefits. All the current work schemes only help those outta work for max of 12 months. #WelfareNotWarfare
