Overall, this might have been my best prerelease showing since I started playing the game last year. Definitely getting in the groove - especially in limited events.

Post event, I was rewarded with a Mon Mothma showcase in my prize packs! 🔥🔥🔥

Jabba Green 3-0 (6-0)
• Jabba Green 2-0
• Dryden Blue 2-0
• Leia Yellow 2-0

Due to having extra time, played a ‘for fun’ game with the Padme deck against the Dryden Blue and won.

Finally, played Jabba against a good Luthen Yellow piloted by my friend. I won that game as well.

#SWU Prerelease #2 - My card pool was absolutely cracked. Built two VERY strong decks.

Padme Red AND Jabba Green!

Both builds had control synergies with Padme more aggressive and Jabba better top end & removal options.

Went with Jabba for the 3 round Bo3 event and he did not disappoint!

I look forward to her 6 cost 4/9 next year! She keeps ranking up and getting stronger. 😆

@nerdparker.com & @unlimitedlimited.bsky.social - one test build in, sealed trilogy seems to work!

Overall, I think the format works well. The booster box distribution seems to help with having enough cards for 3 complete builds.

Biggest issue is time - it takes a lot to open packs, sort, design & deck build. Having a 1 hour time limit is challenging, encourages efficiency & knowing the set.

3rd Deck - Luthen Green

Luthen is interesting. His ability wants his units to be defeated making it difficult to maintain a board. In limited, I think the ability works best with tokens. Pairing with green helps get those.

Unveiled Might or Dresselian Commandos seem great on his flip.

2nd deck - Dedra Blue

Dedra is all about stalling long enough to drop haymakers. Pairing with blue (for removal) or green (for ambush) seems natural.

Sudden Ferocity + Aggressive Negotiations is worth delaying her flip if the opponent has been letting you draw cards with her leader ability.

1st deck - Leia Yellow

A strong leader in limited (similar to LOF Snoke). I was careful to include a balance of single aspect cards in each color to trigger her ability.

One of my fav cards for Leia is the A-Wing in cunning. She can buff it to a 2/3 Raid 1 on turn 1. Demands a response.

New idea for #SWU - Sealed Trilogy!

12 packs
12 leader choices
168 playables

All other trilogy rules apply -
• No sideboard
• Each player bans 1 opposing deck
• Must win two games, one with each remaining deck.

Tested with a set 6 booster box. Had good results!

Here is the overall pool. Had a ton of options with Red Villain and Yellow Hero being strengths.

Ended up on Dedra Blue though Jabba Red/Green, Yularen Red/Blue, Padme Red/Green, or Mothma Yellow were all viable.

Fun design on Dedra. She can play aggro or control, depending on her pool.

And it gives a way of playing set specific Trilogy without going through the hassle of designing/creating fully optimized 50 card decks.

It would definitely be an interesting deck building challenge. And satisfies my need to not just rip packs for the sake of ripping packs.

As a draft leader, I’m struggling a bit to identify C/UC cards that C-3PO wants. What are some of those cards you are looking for when drafting him? Is there a SEC card that steers you towards C-3PO when you see it?

I’ll also say, this particular characterization was one of my LEAST favorite from the Clone Wars show. I hoped for a legitimate villain, not comic relief.

I would like him more if his return to hand was an option… or if he also returned any upgrades on him to hand.

For a character that liked collecting sabers, this unit is a terrible platform for them.

Nonetheless, seems like a fun card.

Yeah that was a good switch. Jar Jar dealing with laws would have felt weird.

Soooo… the woman in the background of Bail’s leader card is Sheltay Retrac. In legends (Heir to the Empire), she was the mother of Winter Celchu, Leia’s childhood friend/companion & eventual Rebel spy.

Here’s hoping for a card for Winter in this set! One of my fav characters from legends. 🤞🏻
