On Thursday I was delighted to join the Newcastle Green team ๐ŸŒฑ

It was fantastic to meet everyone, knock on doors, and help back the campaign for a third Green councillor. Local teams are the driving force of our movement โ€“ and itโ€™s always inspiring to support them.

This weekend in Bristol, I joined others to send a clear message: ๐Ÿ’š Refugees are welcome here. Always.

People fleeing war, persecution, or disaster deserve safety, compassion & dignity โ€“ not hostility.

We are stronger when we stand together against hate.

This was once a busy community centre โ€“ now itโ€™s shut, another victim of high rents, landlord profiteering & energy costs.

As Deputy Leader, Iโ€™ll fight for fair rents, affordable energy & funding to protect these spaces. Our towns need their heartbeat back. ๐Ÿ’š

Community spaces keep our towns alive โ€“ but rising rents, landlord profiteering & energy costs are closing their doors.

When they go, we lose more than buildings โ€“ we lose connection & hope.

As Deputy Leader, Iโ€™ll fight to protect & fund these spaces so our high streets thrive again.

When community spaces close, the whole town feels it.

High rents, landlord profiteering & soaring energy costs are destroying our high streets.

We need fair rents, affordable energy & support for local spaces. Thatโ€™s what Iโ€™ll fight for as Deputy Leader. Thriving towns need thriving high streets.

Iโ€™ve shared before about Thomas โ€“ a homeless veteran Iโ€™ve met many times in Weston-super-Mare.

Thousands across the UK are homeless or in insecure housing. We need rent controls, affordable homes, and real political will.

Iโ€™ve met Thomasโ€”a veteran and a gentlemanโ€”many times through my work in Weston-super-Mare.

Heโ€™s also homeless.

Housing shouldnโ€™t be a reward for service. Itโ€™s a human right.
As Deputy Leader, Iโ€™ll fight to make quality housing a Green Party priority.

We need a leadership team that not just recognises the issues we face but actually understands them. Someone who knows the system and how to change it! I know the system, I know what needs doing and I know how to do. A space on GPEx as deputy leader can ensure I have the power to make that change.

Lastly, I want to tackle the internal structure and how we make the party more inclusive, representative and welcoming.

It's disgusting that the Green party is becoming involved in some culture war against trans people and their basic human rights. We need to reform our disciplinary system.

I was mentored for a couple years by one of the original writers of Target to win, I know the structure inside and out. Most importantly, I know what needs improving and expanding on.

I have and will continue to fight elections on the doorstep with local parties across the country.
