universities and colleges, at this point, have zero incentive to keep 'problem' instructors on the payroll. combine that with a hostile fed and basically any instructor is risking doxxing, swatting, and all manor of life-destroying whatever if they bother to give a student a D+.

i guarantee the TA for this class is already getting death threats. it's something most of the 'discussions' of higher ed in decline seem willing to touch on is:
1) most of your instructors are NOT tenured and can be fired for literally no reason
2) the threat of weaponized social media

I am allowed to fail students for AI use, and I do, and I say I will, repeatedly and emphatically. As a result, I wind up having to fail very few students for AI use.
