If we're talking about bias, why do BBC politics programmes, from Politics Live to the Laura Kuennsberg Show, still always begin with a look at the newspaper front pages, which are overwhelmingly biased in one direction. Helps frame the entire news agenda and debate in their favour

Boris Johnson says the idea that criticism of the BBC is being organised by the right is β€˜complete and utter bollocks’, which makes me think there might be something in it.

The Telegraph’s BBC hypocrisy A paper that knows a thing or two about editorial f*ck-ups...

It takes an obscene amount of hubris to lecture the BBC when you have The Telegraph’s record on truth-telling.

Some of the paper’s errors this year are so bad they’re almost laughable πŸ‘‡πŸ»

How the government captured the BBC A right-wing cabal, largely unaccountable, is waging war on the principles that made our public broadcaster great. It must not succeed

Nearly two years ago, I wrote about the extraordinary influence of former Tory spin doctor Sir Robbie Gibb on the BBC. It's still a helpful backgrounder for what's going on now. New readers start here: www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/ideas/media/...

Private care providers in three English regions make Β£250m in three years More than third of profits analysed went to firms owned by private equity or based in tax havens, research finds Private companies operating care services in just three regions of England have taken more than Β£250m in profits in three years, with more than a third going to providers owned by private equity firms or companies based in tax havens. New analysis by Reclaiming Our Regional Economies warned that public money is being rapidly funnelled out of the care system into the hands of private companies, rather than reinvested to improve services. Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

Crime gangs in UK start making own branded weight-loss drugs Medicines watchdog says criminals are designing packaging and branding to look like legitimate product Organised crime gangs have begun manufacturing their own branded weight-loss drugs, designed to look like legitimate medicines, in what authorities warn is a significant threat. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) said the trend had only just emerged, leading them to conduct the largest single seizure of trafficked weight-loss drugs ever recorded by any global law enforcement agency. I had my disagreements with the BBC under Tim Davie but he was a decent man doing a difficult job.

To see Trump's White House claiming credit for his downfall and attacking the BBC should worry us all.

To be honest one of the scariest things you'll read this year. A prison system permanently on the brink because it will never be a priority for scarce public resources, but politicians will not admit that.

7 of the 11 most serious pollution incidents. 523 sewage spills. 121 missed environmental projects.

This is a disgrace. Our rivers and communities deserve better, and the Government must enact stronger regulations to stop the sewage scandal once and for all.

Zohran Mamdani was the first NYC mayoral candidate to win more than one million votes since John Lindsay in 1969. Plus Zohran won 70% of voters under 45. Yes 70%! Yet we see some trying to gaslight us into saying Zohran did not win a mandate. What Zohran did is what a mandate looks like!
