Was not a fan of AFFINITY. Marko Zaror is great delivering action, but minus his awesome cameo on Fight or Flight, he struggles to deliver emotion in other types of scenes.

You gotta love Latvian cinema. Last year, they selected the most profound, heart-wrenching pro-animal-rights tale for the International Oscar race, and this year, they select the most depraved, blasphemous, and horny film of the year. Both animated. LFG Latvia.

The lack of critics' interest in animation beyond US is so annoying! Right now I'm writing my Oscar Animated Feature race preview and it's so disappointing to see so many international gems that are going to be ignored because critics only watch Disney/DW/Netflix in English and whatever NEON has.

Se me hace rarísimo que aquí pase eso. En otros países percibo todo lo contrario. El cine de terror crea mucha comunidad, como que gente que se siente alienada se une a través del cine de terror. Es muy bonito. Lo que viví en Fantasic Fest aquí nunca se podría replicar.

Cuando "asustar" no define al género del terror. Por cosas como éstas es que en no existen grandes festivales de cine de terror en México. Hay una fragmentación muy marcada entre seguidores del género y un entendimiento primitivo del mismo.

Qué feíta es la fanaticada del cine de terror en México. Siempre veo a señores que salen de las piedras para criticar con argumentos rancios (tipo "es que ya nada da miedo") que denotan que no comprenden qué es el género en primer lugar. Como si quisieran demostrar que son valientes y no se asustan.

¿Por qué a la gente, incluyendo muchos críticos, no les gusta el cine asiático? Sobre todo el animado (no, Ghibli no cuenta, hay un mundo más allá de Ghibli). Me da mucha tristeza la poca difusión y distribución que hay incluso en EEUU de pelis tan maravillosas 😔
