The fundamental difference between Trump and other Republican leaders is they know Fox News is bullshit and Trump thinks what he sees on Fox, which he watches obsessively, is reality. Almost all of his ideas are warped around this.

When Fox producers obsess over something, Trump believes because he sees it on Fox every hour that it is *the* pressing issue.

The mainstream media has never been able or willing to get a handle on this. They think Trump operates like a normal politician, swayed by advisors and think tanks. Trump’s most senior adviser is the magic box where all his Fox friends live.
