It's a systemic problem with lack of third spaces and walkable communities and cultural isolation that nobody has individual solutions for, but uh. Find an unmonetizable hobby. Get into fibre arts. Learn some tinkering. Something that doesn't have to do with brands or buying shit. Find your freaks.

Just like the chatbots preying on socially isolated people, endless media consumption is just a temporary comfort that worsens the problem in the long run. Sometimes it helps gets you through the day, but you can't let it be a crutch.

You can make connections with anyone as long as you have something in common, and media can often be a jumping off point, but it has to be able to engage with people in a deeper way than just as a product. Media consumption will not fill that community shaped hole you crave to be filled

We need to stop letting corporations be the biggest player in culture. Culture is supposed to be about community and connection, something of shared interest or activity. We can't keep letting tech and media companies tell us what we should be bonding over

usually scam ads don't show up on the tv when using chromecast. In the app all the time but Chromecast on tv seems to have to follow local laws, the ad sources are all big companies. Food, banks, cars, cosmetics, government PSAs. But that one slipped through. Proves no human actually checks these.

Another one popped up with a different AI generated vid and out of curiosity I looked up what YouTube channel this visit advertiser will link to, and it seems like this time they forgot to link to someone else's channel. This channel is empty save for that one vid that's just the ad.

This ad is actually like 15 minutes long nvm I usually hit the skip button so fast I didn't notice just how long it was. I took a pic of the QR on a device with no internet connection and decoded the text link, then checked to see its a QR generation site that has been flagged for hosting scam links

The channel might or might not be affiliated, but obviously serves as a front should anyone report the ad for being a scam. The QR code is the real link. This makes it harder for botmods to detect and harder for ppl to report. Don't scan random QR codes ANYWHERE sometimes it'll auto download viruses

So there's a 2 minute long ad that occasionally pops up on Chromecast when using the tube of AI generated Mark Carney with AI generated audio selling an obvious scam and a big QR code leading to it. Checking the link for "visit advertiser" just links to a cooking YouTube channel
